What a great night! Real crazy ass'd rock n roll. I just wish I hadn't nearly passed out at 1am from exhaustion so I could have kept going everywhere else in town!

Pink to Raspberry

So I've had pink hair for a couple of years now. And generally is a combination of Pretty Flamingo, and Raspberry Beret and a little red depending on my mood.

Well last night I decided I wanted RADICAL... So I did a straight Rasperry Berret and it was the old darker formula too!

Forgive the crappy cell phone picture but thats my new rasperry pink almost purple verses the bright pink of me in my avitar! I'm hoping it willl fade to a slightly more pinker shade of raspberry.
I think it has more attitude!

Where I journal the joys of moving and no internet!

I don't think I've made to time to journal in about a fortnight (or longer)... So I've alot of catching up to do. I've went to a big event at Vector Arena... and being poor.. (self inflicted as I've started seriously saving for the trip) I only really had a "lemonade budget" for the gig; I smuggled in a small amount of vodka! I don't recommend this to anyone cos its not good if you get caught! Anyway having flavoured my vodka with strawberry, raspberry and hazelnut liqueurs I proceeded to get quite merry off DIY vodka cocktails... I always say that its not always the music I go to events for... its the people, the atmospher and the fun or excitement! I've no idea who was playing most of the night, but the event was really busy and gets a great 8.5 out of 10 from me! Definitely a night out with my whole crew! (I'll update this with photos at a later stage) The next weekend it was the Headless Chickens gig at the Powerstation.. I old venue I'm very fond of and special friends in the supporting band Cocaine like Candy! I had the honour of playing Paparazzi for the night, and a crash course on learning how to operate the flash Canon 40 D - and the photos turned out not too bad I thought.... (will hunt them down on the interwebs to show ya'll) Its not all about experience you see, You can't just buy an artistic eye! When your out every weekend not everything is worth noteable mention so I fast forward to the end of Nov and moving house. Myself and my flatmates said a sad goodbye to our KinkHQ as we had fondly named it and a happy one to our slightly psycho landlady... (over 80 with English second language) which had not made for fun inspections - "OMG you haven't swept, cleaned the venitians, windowsills and look at all that WASHING!" I mean come-on SERIOUSLY now... No holes in the walls and a clean house? Yea we were excellent tenants.. (rant) So moving on the first two days of summer (stinking hot sunscreen weather) was not particularly fun.. Oh and going back on my Birthday (1st) to vacuum, scrub and take all the rubbish to the tip = awesome! Tho I can now tell you that a maiden hair fern in a 20 kg pot will come down stairs if you want it too enough and will go from the side of the street in under an hour. Tho I'm scared it was turned into polynesian dinner :-( And trying to please a landlady and getting your period at the same time is a recipe for "Emotional Release" Haha.. Anyway the new place is great... cheaper, wooden floors, same flatmates, still close to town, a full half acre section, water views and the cat has settled in fine too! (got up this morning to find our cat "talking" to a very friendly stray rabbit who was channeling Houdini!) Its much quieter too which is a major bonus, so I'm glad we did it! The Calendar project is coming along ok... I'm chasing up photographers now, and sorting out the final 3 pages that need to be organised. Its exciting and I'm glad I decided to do it, and I can't wait to see it in print! the latest page was a body art one with forest pixies and blue and green tree people... It came out AMAZING and I couldn't have done it with out my fantastic support crew - YOU ALL ROCK!!! I can't wait for the calendar release party! This weekend just gone was nothing different - busy. I'm loving summer and its great to be going back out to outdoor partys, saturday's one attracting over 1000 people! I went semi incognito, immediately wishing I'd worn my big pink platforms and something crazy! Haha. Friday was "Its Kamp" with hilarious shows at the Naval (corner of K and Pitt Sts) and Saturday I was mostly hanging out with the girls at Flirt... I don't know weather I was over exhausted, tired or tipsy... But yea... I had fun, but left feeling a little embarrassed. I hate PDA, so I find partaking in it somewhat cheapening.. Horny, Gorgeous and Alcohol... lol ah fuck it, I'm a wild child anyway. But I tell you what, Trust isn't just a cheap snog away... ;-P The walls have eyes and ears. The situation left me horribly confused and a little let down... however I shouldn't be too quick to write it all off! I've an analytical brain, so I'm always trying to guess people's thoughts and intentions! Haha so SHOOT ME! Rock n Roll Baby.... *evil chuckle*

I'm trying to help an over ambitious friend put on a event for 400 people in less than 2 months, upstage events prior to it, and still make a profit.

Personally I think its rediculous and the event would be 100000000000000 more sucessful if it was done to support a charity in a "not for profit direction" Which does not mean the organisers would miss out on being paid.
I'm all for stepping outside the square and risk taking but I don't condone blind stupidity!

Now given I haven't watched any of Guy Ritchies other movies (I think) I LOVED it... It was the epitamy of grunge, glamour, rock n roll and all the shit, drama and corruption that always goes along with it! Altho it glamourises the underworld it shows why people get into it I think.

I'm moving house at the end of the month OH YAY... packing has begun. I've done one box of fragiles and folded a heap of clean washing. Anyone wanna come over and help? :-(

Burning Man pre-sales are now available... Thinking of purchasing our tickets in the next couple of weeks. Gonna be another $900 by the looks of things... :-S Expensive but I don't care it will be worth it! The exchange rate SUCKS however!

Big day out... I wanna go for the experience - I love it last time, so thats on my list to buy too. However my birthday is soon so if you want ideas theres one. But tel me so I don't buy one too. Oh other birthday ideas / suggestions

Wednesday night I shot a couple of pages for the Club Kids Calendar. It was awesome directing instead of modeling. I've always had a creative mind so I know EXACTLY what I want. Its was lots of fun, the hard part now is choosing which photos to edit for print! Eeek. I have three batches to do!!!

Today I had a meeting with a photographer and club manager to sort out a shoot we're doing tomorow early evening. Its gonna be bigger, with lots more people... however I have a team that KICKS ASS.. (sam, maz, glen, nick, nemo, talia, russel, flick, corey, sophie) I LOVE YOU GUYS and a huge thankyou for all giving your support to help this project happn! And to all the models, you rock!

I'm trying not to organise anything for tonight so I can chill relax and not race around madly!

So beyond that - What have I been doing?

Calendar centerfold, which actually includes the above poem (I'm dying to post it but can't) Burlesque photoshoot (hoping to get the photos back today!) Rehearsals and more rehearsals. A show at a theatre I'd never performed at before and subsequent stage fright (yes I suck and fall prey to its evils!) A zombie performance and awesome special effects makeup (www.jadedsphinx.co.nz) Another two photoshoots I directed, and really enjoyed not being in for once..! And the drama's of organising a large number of people and trying to have anyone freak out on my ass!

Faded Jaded Pinkness

So I wrote a big long blog on Friday last week and the internet ATE it. Or I took to long to do it and teh page timed out. Normally I copy it before I hit post. guess I won't be making that mistake again!

So the last two weeks.. I actually have to get my calendar out cos I can't remember everything. I write this diary blog so that I don't forget my life, cos sometimes it all turns into one big blur..

So the end of November was all a big lead up to Halloween. I had cocktail training on wednesday the 22nd... I can now make the most fabulous Choctini, Appletini and Strawberry Daqurie.... I'm going to order the ingredients in bulk so I can make punch bowls full of it! Friday the 24th was an "Internet Awards Party" Even little new zealand has its own scene!! Funniest moment ever - sitting on the couch at the end yelling at people that they were at an Internet party IRL. Gosh could we sound any nerdier?!

Oh yea did I mention I won 5 awards? When I wrote the last blog I posted a picture for each one, but I can't be bothered this time round. It was hillarious, and cos I was in such a great mood I even ended up giving two of my awards away to other people who were in the same category. I love to share. No one ever got to the top being a backstabbing bitch!

Saturday the 25th was Armageddon... Working there one day for Nocturne Magazine... It was a heap of fun. I even dressed down.. but it was fun hanging out with good friends and helping out!

Sunday (its was a long weekend) 26th I had a very busy day. Cocktail waitressing at a halloween party (even the oldies dressed up) From there I headed to a good friends of mine and grabbed a bite to eat! Baked smoked salmon - oh DEVINE.. second only to smoked trout! Then I headed to a party called "Enlightened" It was a great time and very well put on party!

Monday was all about recovery! I think I caught a chill as I've not been feeling so wonderful since.

Thrusday 30th was a small bite of what I'd love to be doing every day. I had a Photoshoot with a friend of mine up from Christchurch, www.paintingwithlight.co.nz depending on how the photos come out I might use one a the calendar Centrefold! We'll just have to see! Then from there I popped up the road and helped choregraphy the last minute of a show girl routine for www.queenwholeuniverse.com then I rushed down to the Auckland university studios for a photoshoot of the Midnight Rock n Roll Circus girls for my "Club Kid and Friends" 2009 Calendar Here

The Calendar is my current big project! I'm trying to get "Club Kids" out there. and so people know its not ACTUAL "kids" either haha...

Club Kids are the brightest thing in the club scene since Crayola made crayons...

The Club Kids were a group of young club goers led by Michael Alig and James St. James in the late 1980s and early 1990s This group was famous for their outrageous costumes and extensive media attrention. At one point, they were on the payroll of several clubs including Limelight and Studio 54 for showing up with an entourage of Club Kids in order to draw more customers to the clubs. They featured in a documentary and feature film both called Party Monster by Club Kid James St. James.

I have photoshoots organised for 3 dates coming up in November, another photographer working on two more and 3 or 4 more to organise before the end of december. I know exactly what I want, and will make sure it happens!

Halloween was fun... Its a shame trick or treating isn't a bigger thing here. I think people are so wrapped up in being safety conscious its ruined it a little... Partys are great but never make the full package.

I've always loved being creative. Weather its designing, decorating, creating painting scrapbooking or writing. On the saturday just gone I helped create a jungle. For a small budget it turned out really well..! If I had to do it again I would have had more people to help and more trees! Haha... the 6am pack down was amusing with a drunk promoter, but getting out of bed after 3 hours sleep was NOT fun!

Next year is the big trip... I'm more and more excited every day. Three summers in a row and 4 and a half months of traveling around the world!

So I'm putting the first bits and pieces together for a club kids calendar for 2009 (new zealand) - its incredibly exciting and nerve wracking at the same time! But at the same time I hope I'm bringing the whole scene closer together and refreshing or exposing to them the clubbing history that is the club kids and party monster of the 80's and 90's.

I've pretty much confirmed all the themes and photographers now I just have organise the dates and the people to be there for those dates! November is fillin up FAST!!

I have also got rehearsals for a stage show called Queen of the Whole Universe. Its in mid november so I'll be glad to get my evenings back by then. Under a month away and I've got an incredibly tricky routine to perfect, (more so for the fact I have to do it in massive platform heels! EEK... Thankfully no cartwheels!

If I could manage to delegate an assistant would be awesome... But yea... thats so not as easy as it sounds... Perfectionists love perfectionism... which isn't infact generally perfect at all its just how you did it and ended up happy.

Anyway.... Next year I am traveling around the world.... I think as of this morning flights have been booked to return! The New Zealand to UK exchange rate SUCKS the big KAHUNA... seriously bad. I, by a stroke of luck and some incidental mid morning internet brousing (actually here on Live Journal) found out that tickets to Glastonbury festival had just gone on sale.... Of course I panic'd... festivals that large don't generally have tickets just waiting around for people to buy them.... I jumped on line and immediately found out that buy tickets internationally was neigh on impossible.... Whats with the UK debit card only (eftpos)??????????? OMG... I'm not in the UK - I CAN'T do that... take a Credit card you dumb site... *rage*
Thankfully I have friends in the UK who just so happen to have one of these illusive cards and a NZ bank account (omg hooray) and was the best thing since sliced bread and closed the deal....
Over $1,000 NZD later I have two THREE DAY tickets to Glastonbury... Oh yea the fact that its three days long makes me feel much better about spending that amount of money! Haha...

So for the other events we want to go to I'll be just keeping my eyes peeled... I really don't fancy getting them via ticket scalpers once we get there....

Burning Man tickets get released in January... So bring it on! Hopefully I'll be bringing a Gf along with me for that too! *exciting*

Reality SUCKS
Its hard to come back down to reality - seriously... Iike I have to save up like no tomorow or I'm gonna be stuck, starving and have no shopping money! :-( I've a few unsavoury ideas in that respect... hmmm....

The weekend just gone was fun... I seriously need to curb the amount I'm drinking - seriously OMG CALLORIES!
Friday didn't help that I don't think I paid for a single cent of what I drank... :-O Satruday I did... and fleeced a willing bar tender of $10 (I didn't have cash on me for a club cover charge) I'll be repaying my fleecing debt this weekend instead! Haha... I had slight tinges of regret, but mainly was just amused at the situation in general.

Sohomo Club was FANTASTIC.... I felt right at home (despite that I was dressed up and would have gotten in free if I was a drag queen not a girl dressed like one!) Love the music and the equally as eclectic as myself crowd!

The George FM Door list party was the place to be seen and noticed. If you didn't make it along you just aren't "someone".... It was definately the "SCENE" New Zealand doesn't really have one in international standards but for what it was I had a great time. The place was PACKED... I love going to gigs like that where you almost have to crowd surf to get to the front and see "a million" people you know in the space of 5 minutes! I found my two favourite spots and got my boogie on - I just don't think the photos are up yet... COMEON PEOPLE...

Talking about photos... I fantastically mislaid the charger for my camera battery. Thankfully I still have the battery... So I ripped out the credit card on the weekend and bought a new one which should hopefully arrive today. Then you shall see more video and picture documentation of my life week by week.

I can't wait to document travelling around the world Blogging, Vlogging and photos.... EXCITING! Here's hoping we can stay in contact with the internet everywhere! :-D

This weekend is an awards ceremony in the Dance Music Scene... which will be interesting!! :D
Satruday I am working at Armageddon! I shall be bringing my lolita outfit out of the cupboard... *Hopefully* it works!

Sunday I'm making a guest appearance at an event called "Enlightened" - I love supporting friends who are getting out there and taking a risk to do something exciting!

Also we're putting on another KINK party!!! This one is KINK the SLUMBER PARTY - what sexy dreams and nightmares are made of! EEeeek! So far we have planned, pillow fighting, DDR matches... ( I BOUGHT MY OWN DANCE MAT!!) and the normal room lay-out

The best thing as your not obliged to venture further than you feel comfortable doing... Thats what makes our KINK parties the best. Last party we had about 80 people attend. If this one gets more than 100 we will have to look at moving to a bigger venue. However its a "DOOR LIST ONLY" event... So even if I'm telling you about it here... You've got to request your RSVP to come along - Its a safety mecanism to make sure theres an even boy-girl ratio and no predators... Quite simple but PILES of fun!! **EXCITING**

Do I have anything else to talk about.... *thinks*

Oh yes... I need to profess my GYM addiction... I have an idea body figure in mind and I'm not stopping till I get there. I don't think I've been this determined in ages. I have inspiration, motivation... and am fed up with how I look atm. I think I'm making progress but a week or so is far too little to tell. and Weekends are my weekness!
